Thanks so much for this plugin. I customized it per a client’s request to force their logo and organization into the open graph meta tags of the plugin. I wrote up a short tutorial on it this too, since some blog writers don’t always use thumbnails and/or obscure post titles: http://pinatubocreative.com/1/2011/03/02/customizing-facebook-share-tools-open-graph/

Hi there, I’ve just installed this plugin and it’s working beautifully for ensuring the correct image gets shared!! Thanks! However, I do have one small issue. The word “Share” appears before the description text. I cannot figure out where it is coming from. Do you have any suggestions on how I might fix this? Thanks again!

    1. shailan says:

It may be caused by a Sharing plugin you have installed.

do u have version with the code itself rather than wordpress plug-in, please.

  4. Hi, this is the exact kind of a plugin I was looking for, but unfortunately I dont knw why, but it isn’t working the way it is meant to work, I get the following error on the webpage after installing the plugin (presently the plugin is deactivated)

“Fatal error: Call to undefined function has_post_thumbnail() in /home/altek/public_html/gencept.com/wp-content/plugins/facebook-metatags/facebook-metatags.php on line 49”

    thanks a lot.

Your wordpress installation needs to be updated. This plugin needs at least WordPress 2.9 to work.

    bye and many thanks!!!

^ Please update “logo_url” with the above snippet in the plugin.

  9. I really wish I would have seen your plugin before buying into SharePress. With your plugin, should one post to FB personal profile or business fan page? — I’m kind of confused as I get different default logos posted on pages mentioned above. Not to mention duplicate twitter posts. Any suggestions are greatly welcomed.

Hi, because I am using my home page in wordpress it does not have a page editing screen to add a featured photo. that is added in the header.

FB share code needed to be added to my homepage.php in editor. It grabs my logo first, but it’s choppy looking when displayed as a thumbnail. I’d like to add the header picture instead and if there’s anyway to add a description that would be fantastic.

    I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

    1. Matt Say says:

Use settings page to choose your default home page logo.

  11. Jodi says:

Bread crumbs please….I don’t see any choices like that in my settings.

    Thanks. I’ll check it out.

Thanks so much, this works perfectly for me on individual blog posts.

On my home page it sets og:image content to ” ” so when I go to share just the main site, it does not set a specific image and just grabs all available thumbnail images it can find on the page. I have put in a Default Logo URL on the settings page (100×100), but it seems to ignore this.

Any possibility you could point me in the right direction?

Thanks so much for your time and any help you can offer.

  14. Works like a charm! Thanks for the amazing plugin mate. Gratz!
